Consisting of six members – Seongil, Yechan, Seongmo, Seongbin, Seokjoon, and Dogyun – 82MAJOR represents South Korea’s national code, “82”, and symbolizes their aspirations to establish their presence in the K-pop industry.
The group name also reflects their ambition to become a “MAJOR” K-pop group representing their country on a global scale. Recently, their fandom name has been revealed as “82DE”, pronounced as “attitude”, a fusion of 82MAJOR and attitude. The name encapsulates the group’s desire for being together and fostering a genuine connection with their fans.
“BEAT by 82” will feature a total of four tracks, each showcasing the diverse talents of the members who have all actively participated in the songwriting process.
Leading the album is the title track, “Choke”, capturing 82MAJOR’s confident and intense attitude. Additionally, the album also includes “Birthday”, the group’s second collaboration with renowned composer Ryan Jhun, known for creating numerous K-pop hits.
The group first collaborated with Ryan Jhun on their pre-debut single “Sure Thing”. Rounding up the track list are “Illegal” and “82”, previously released songs that are now officially included in the album due to the fans’ love and requests for their official release.
