As they gear up for their highly anticipated comeback on July 12 with their second studio album, “ROMANCE: UNTOLD,” ENHYPEN has gifted ENGENEs with an exciting preview by releasing the “UNTOLD Concept Cinema” at midnight KST last June 2023. This short film extends the narrative of their upcoming album and showcases the members’ impressive acting skills through jaw-dropping action scenes, deep emotional moments, and, of course, their striking visuals.
The cinematic universe of “UNTOLD Concept Cinema” dives into the thrilling journey of seven vampire boys who risk everything to protect their sole human guardian, Chloe. Each member displayed their versatility, as they skillfully navigated through intense gunfire and sequences and tender, heartfelt moments.
Directed by the rising Director Lee Choong Hyun, “UNTOLD Concept Cinema” weaves a unique tale based on the upcoming album’s narrative. Director Lee explained that the film incorporates ENGENEs into its storyline, where ENHYPEN portrays seven vampires who fall for “you”, a human, despite coming from vastly different worlds. As their sole human protector, “you” help these seven vampires become better individuals. In return, they become determined to protect this developing love at all costs, but only if “you” say yes – a theme that beautifully aligns with the album narrative. This rare blend of vampire lore, the storyline of “ROMANCE: UNTOLD,” and Director Lee’s signature noir style creates a cinematic gem rarely seen in the K-pop scene.
A day before the official release, ENHYPEN and Director Lee greeted 1,500 fans at the “UNTOLD Concept Cinema Premier Event” in Seoul. During the Q&A session, the director praised ENHYPEN’s unique color and distinct album narrative and concept. Meanwhile, the group encouraged fans to pay close attention to the film’s details, hinting at connections between the film and their upcoming album. They shared, “For our second studio album, we experimented with many new ideas, including this film. We approached the album with the goal of achieving a new milestone, so please stay tuned.”
