SB19’s Josh Cullen unveils debut solo album, Lost & Found

Josh Cullen of SB19 bares his soul in Lost & Found, his debut solo album under Sony Music Entertainment.

The nine-track album delves into themes of vulnerability and pain, shedding light on personal traumas and the journey to healing. With raw honesty, Cullen turns his struggles into an anthem of resilience and hope, marking a new chapter in his creative journey.

Josh shared, “This album explores themes of pain and suffering, redemption, and the strength of human resilience, inspired by my inner truth. In Lost and Found, I wrote about the pain that never truly goes away, the trauma that lingers long after we think our wounds have healed, and discovering strength within ourselves.”

Lost & Found showcases his raw songwriting talents, offering an unfiltered glimpse into his struggles and triumphs. He confronts the pressures and superficiality of the music industry head-on, while revisiting his own painful childhood memories—symbolized by rummaging through the bins, armed only with a pen. Cullen’s approach to vulnerability is striking; he sees it as both painful and empowering, using it to fuel his creativity as a storyteller.

Reflecting on the album’s themes, Cullen shares, “I know what it means to be lost and found. I’ve experienced being lost throughout my life, sometimes trapped between trying to process all these intense emotions while desperately hoping to be found. I hope to connect with my fans and listeners who have been through the same journey or are going through the same.”

Moreover, Josh takes a bold step away from his earlier rap and urban sound, diving into a diverse mix of emo, pop-punk, alt-rock, and producer-driven hip-hop and R&B. The album resists being boxed into any single genre, showcasing Cullen’s ability to adapt, with his signature emotive lyrics and catchy hooks tying everything together.

The powerful guitar-driven “1999” tackles the realities of life, while the electro-pop vibe of “See Me” explores the warmth of love and connection. Other highlights include the dark and moody “Lights Out,” featuring Mo of Alamat, the punchy, energetic “No Control,” and the acoustic simplicity of “Honest.” The seamless blend of sounds throughout the album makes Lost & Found a standout in Cullen’s growing discography, revealing his growth as an artist.
