Previously, Youngjae had his first fansigning event and mini-concert ‘Sugar‘ at the same venue in July 2022. He was also the first GOT7 member to grace Manila’s stage after leaving their previous company.
After nearly two years, GOT7 Tingi (per piece) Concerts in the Philippines were eventually concluded by Mark Tuan, the final member of the group to perform in the country.
Furthermore, since every member of GOT7 has performed live in the country already. The Season 2 of the GOT7 Tingi Concert in the Philippines has just begun, kicking off once more with YOUNGJAE!
Youngjae started his show with the performances of ‘Vibin‘ and ‘Sugar.’ Manila also heard, for the first time, his songs from his latest comeback and first full-length album, “Do It” including ‘Deal,’ ‘Dreaming Again,’ ‘Thinking Of You,’ ‘Problem,’ ‘Snooze,’ and ‘Never Leave You Alone‘ among others.
He also prepared a special performance of one of Bruno Mars’ famous songs, ‘When I Was Your Man‘ for his Filipino fans. According to him, Bruno Mars had a concert in Korea and he attended it. He realized that Bruno Mars was really good at singing live.
In between his stages, Youngjae could be seen taking his throat medicine. He was already feeling under the weather during his soundcheck. The artist did not suppress his disappointment, feeling that his condition and his in-ear malfunction were the reasons he was not performing as well as he could have. He said he felt relieved because Ahgases were singing with him. But in all honesty, he gave excellent performances even though he felt ill.
Youngjae’s encore consisted of some of GOT7’s greatest hits, which raised the crowd’s energy to its peak and sent them into a frenzy of excitement and nostalgia as they waved their banners and light sticks in a green ocean. Songs like ‘Hard Carry,’ ‘Lullaby,’ ‘Girls Girls Girls,’ and ‘NANANA‘ had everyone dancing and singing along, making it an amazing experience for both the artist and the fans present. Youngjae even performed ‘Breath‘ which is a GOT7 song he wrote himself!
PH Ahgases also prepared a cute surprise video for Youngjae. He also praised the banner made by the fanbase as it features Coco, his beloved dog. He teared up while holding the banner as it reminded him of Coco and he misses his pet so much.
Youngjae felt both grateful and sorry because of his throat condition that he repeated some of his performances during his encore as if he did not want to end the show so soon to stay with his fans longer.
He did not forget to thank all of the Ahgases from the Philippines and International who came to see him perform. He said that while he was writing songs and rehearsing, he realized that he really love being on stage and that he’ll do his best to show everyone a better version of himself in the future. We also sincerely hope to see Youngjae returning to Manila soon, ideally with the other members as well!
Truly an amazing performer he is, Youngjae was able to wrapped up his concert successfully despite feeling unwell. He was still able to nail every performances he prepared for his Ahgases.
And now, given that Season 2 of GOT7 Tingi PH has already begun, who do you think will be the next GOT7 member to return to Manila? Of course, who ever it is, we can’t wait for them to come back!
