BELIFT LAB announced Tuesday that Heeseung, a member of the global K-pop sensation ENHYPEN, will officially depart the group to focus on his individual musical vision. The news, which has sent shockwaves to ENGENEs, marks the first lineup change for the septet since their 2020 debut.
According to an official statement released on X, the decision followed an in-depth discussions between the agency and the members, “BELIFT LAB has given much thought and consideration into ENHYPEN’s future direction and goals. Through in-depth discussions with each of the members about the future they envision and the direction of the team, it became clear that HEESEUNG has his own distinct musical vision and we have decided to respect it.”
While Heeseung is leaving the group, he is not leaving the agency. He will remain an artist under BELIFT LAB, a subsidiary of HYBE, and is currently in the process of preparing his debut solo album.
ENHYPEN will move forward as a six-member ensemble consisting of Jungwon, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo, and Ni-ki.
