Ha Young stars as Go Eun-sae, a successful prosecutor whose life is turned upside down after she loses all memory of her past. Jung Hae-in plays Jang Tae-ha, a boxing coach whose unexpected claim of being Eun-sae’s boyfriend leads the two into an unconventional cohabitation in a quiet countryside village. What begins as an awkward and suspicious arrangement gradually develops into a heartfelt romance filled with humor, misunderstandings and unexpected chemistry.
Director Kim Jang-han described the series as a “heartwarming, feel-good romantic comedy” centered on a relationship that grows as inseparably as Korean taffy. He added that the show’s warmth and charm are designed to draw viewers in, much like the sticky confection that inspired its title.
Ahead of the premiere, the drama’s main trailer introduces viewers to the fictional Taffy Village in Gujin-gun, where Eun-sae wakes up in a rural hospital with no memory of who she is or how she ended up there. As she struggles to understand her new reality, Tae-ha suddenly appears and confidently introduces himself as her boyfriend.
Still searching for answers, Eun-sae finds little reason to believe him. Tae-ha’s rough-around-the-edges appearance is nothing like the type she imagines herself dating, while the village’s traditional taffy shops and eccentric residents only make her surroundings feel even more unfamiliar. Her growing skepticism and Tae-ha’s unwavering confidence set the stage for a romance that promises equal parts mystery, comedy and heart.
As Eun-sae’s doubts begin to fade, Tae-ha’s unwavering kindness and quiet devotion gradually break through her guarded exterior. His earnest affection catches her off guard, leading to unexpected moments of warmth between the pair as their unlikely connection deepens.
