NCT member Jeong Jaehyun will begin his mandatory military service on November 4. His agency, SM Entertainment, confirmed his acceptance as an active duty soldier in the Military Band through a post on Weverse.

Jaehyun, a 27-year-old artist will be joining the Republic of Korea Army Band (ROK) and will be discharged on May 3, 2026.
The Valentine boy, as affectionately called by his fans, expressed his feelings about his enlistment and his appreciation to fans through a heartfelt message on an exclusive platform Bubble.
“I’ve always moved at my own pace until now, and I’m so thankful and full of love for your trust and for moving forward together with me,” Jaehyun said.
“Though I say with words that I’ll be back soon and ask you to wait just a little, I’m sure I’ll miss you,” he added.
He continues to affirm that he and his supporters are “unconditionally timeless” and he will remember their “precious memories.” He then tells them “to stay healthy in mind and body.”
The official release of his solo debut album “J” took place on this day last month. It sold 331,357 copies in Hanteo, setting a record for the most first-week sales by an SM soloist in 2024.
The year 2024 is significant for Jaehyun because he attended the Prada Spring-Summer 2025 Show as a global ambassador. He also just became the face of the South Korean cosmetics brand “Clio”, Thai haircare “Go Hair”, and Indonesian snack “TicTac.”
In addition, he is set to debut as an actor in the thriller movie “You Will Die in 6 Hours” in October.
Jeong Jaehyun whose real name is Jeong Yuno will be the second NCT member to enlist in the military following its leader, Lee Taeyong.
