On July 21, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, the iconic and one of the most respected groups Super Junior consisting of Leeteuk, Yesung, Shindong, Eunhyuk, Donghae, Siwon, Ryeowook, and Kyuhyun, successfully wrapped up their 2023 Fan Party in Manila.
Super Junior’s fan party, which is a part of their world tour, is an event to show their love and gratitude for their fans in a more intimate way.
It was just early in the morning, but the venue was already packed with Super Junior Fans, ELFs (Ever Lasting Friends). The anticipation for the K-Pop Kings’ first comeback in the country this year was apparent, and the atmosphere was electrifying.
ELFs proudly raised and waved their lightsticks emitting the group’s fandom color as soon as the gates opened, creating an intense energy within the venue. The concert venue turned into a sea of blue, also known as “pearl sapphires,” which symbolizes the unity and everlasting friendship among Super Junior and ELFs worldwide.
The excitement peaked when the lights went dim and the opening video started. Super Junior members kicked off the stage with a high-energy performance of their song ‘Super‘ from their 10th album “Renaissance,” followed the by the classic ‘Mr. Simple‘ gaining loud cheers and setting the right tone for a memorable night.
Amidst loud cheers from the venue, Super Junior continued with the performance of ‘Black Suit‘ from their album “Play,” which undeniably is one of the fan favorites. They first greeted everyone inside the venue before proceeding with ‘Everyday‘ from “The Road: Keep on Going” album.
The members then sat down for the activities they prepared for the fans. Everyone enjoyed the games they prepared, as well as the gifts for Super Junior including the Barong Tagalog (a national dress of the Philippines) that member Kyuhyun tried on. The members genuine interactions and playful banter brought joy and laughter, making the event even more special for the fans.
As the show continued, the group showcased wide range of songs from their extensive discography. They performed some of their emotional ballads including ‘My Wish,’ with Kyuhyun still wearing the Barong Tagalog, followed by ‘Callin.’
The event would not be complete without the performance of ‘House Party‘ as they elevate the energy of the venue. They also had the crowd singing along to another greatest hits ‘Devil‘ and ‘2YA2YAO!‘
Throughout the fan party, the members interacted with fans, showing their appreciation and love for their steadfast support over the years. The emotional connection between Super Junior and their cherished ELFs was heightened by the group’s moving and heartwarming speeches and interactions.
One of the highlights of the night is Super Junior performing their iconic hits ‘Sorry Sorry‘ and ‘Bonamana‘ having the crowd jumping and singing along to the top of their lungs.
As the fan party drew closely to an end, there was a melancholy mood with the fans wanting the night to go on forever. The soul-stirring song ‘More Days with You,’ which Super Junior dedicated to the PH ELFs, stirred deep emotions in the listeners and forged an emotional bond between them and the performers.
PH ELF’s also prepared a suprise video presentation for the members highlighting the previous concerts the group had in Manila and the fan projects conducted by the local fanbase.
For the final song, Super Junior sang ‘Miracle‘ as they said their goodbyes and brought the show to a close. By bowing to each side of the stage, each member took a moment to address the audience and convey their gratitude to everyone who came to the performance. They vowed to make even more cherished moments with their Filipino ELFs when they returned to Manila soon.
