On April 11, 2023, K-pop fans in the Philippines were treated to a sensational night of music and performance at the Araneta Coliseum as aespa, The Boyz, and Taeyeon took to the stage for the first-ever K-Verse concert in Manila. The event was a celebration of Korean music and culture and brought together fans from all over the country to witness some of the biggest names in K-Pop.
Hours prior to the highly anticipated show, a vibrant atmosphere filled the area outside the venue as fans donning eye-catching ensembles arrived. Adding to the excitement were numerous fanclubs who were enthusiastically distributing freebies, including colorful hand banners.
aespa, the popular metaverse girl group composed of Karina, Giselle, Winter and NingNing, kicked off the cosmic adventure in the K-Verse with their hit singles “Black Mamba” and “Illusion”. Following that, they also performed “Life’s Too Short”, “Lingo”, “Savage”, and the chart-topping “Next Level”.
Moreover, The Boyz composed of Sangyeon, Jacob, Younghoon, Hyunjae, Juyeon, Kevin, New, Q, Juhaknyeon, Sunwoo, and Eric set the stage ablaze with their fiery performance of “Roar”, which was just the beginning of their show-stopping set. They kept the energy high with other fan-favorite hits, including “MAVERICK”, “The Stealer”, “Salty”, “Dancing Till We Drop”, and “Thrill Ride”. This was a highly anticipated comeback for The Boyz in Manila since their successful 1st Fan-Con tour, “The Castle”, in 2019.
During the final performance, Taeyeon, the beloved member of the Nation’s Girl Group *Girls’ Generation*, mesmerized the audience with her captivating vocals as she sang her chart-topping hit, “I.” The crowd was left in awe as she followed up with two other stunning tracks from her third album INVU, namely “Toddler” and “Set Myself on Fire.”
Taeyeon continued to enchant the audience with her angelic voice and performed two more sensational tracks, “Four Seasons” and “What Do I Call You.” Finally, as the audience cheered her on, she concluded her magnificent set with the title track from her album INVU.
