Actors Lee Jong Suk and IU have ended their relationship, deciding to go their separate ways after four years of public dating.
Representatives for both stars confirmed the breakup to Dispatch on Thursday, saying the two “recently broke up” and have chosen to remain on good terms as colleagues.
“The two recently broke up. They decided to remain good senior and junior colleagues,” their representatives said.
Lee Jong-suk and IU first met in 2012 while serving as MCs on SBS’ music program Inkigayo. After more than a decade of friendship and working together in the entertainment industry, the pair developed a romantic relationship in 2022. Their relationship became public later that year and was widely supported by fans.
According to a source close to the former couple, increasingly demanding schedules ultimately led to the end of their relationship.
“They ended their relationship as their meetings became less frequent due to their busy schedules,” the source said.
