BLACKPINK has set a new record as the first K-pop group to surpass 2 billion views on a music video.
On January 4th, YG Entertainment announced that BLACKPINK’s music video for “DDU-DU DDU-DU” had achieved over 2 billion views on YouTube. The video was released on June 15, 2018, and reached this milestone after approximately four years and five months. The view count was recorded at 8:57am on the same day.

“DDU-DU DDU-DU” has consistently held the record for the highest number of views for a K-pop group music video on YouTube. The view count has been increasing rapidly, and it is expected to set a new record in the future as the number in front of hundreds of millions of views changes every few months. The music video has set new records for the highest and most views by a K-pop group on YouTube every minute and second.
Meanwhiel, BLACKPINK is currently on a world tour as the largest K-pop girl group. They have already completed 26 performances in 15 cities and will be heading to Asia and Oceania later this year. In addition to this, a solo project by member Jisoo has also been announced.
