Saturday night was truly an unforgettable and healing experience as The Rose’s sweet melodies mend some sour hearts.
Even though it had been a while since they performed in Manila, Hajoon, Woosung, Dojoon, and Jaehyung reminded us all why we fell in love with them in the first place. Their energy and passion on stage left us all in awe and inspired to chase our own dreams with the same dedication and drive.

On January 14th, The Rose, the popular South Korean rock band, held their highly anticipated concert “Heal Together in Manila” at the SM Skydome. The concert was a huge success, with tickets selling out within minutes of going on sale. Fans of the band, known as “Black Roses,” flocked to the venue to see the band perform their hit songs live.
Upon entering the venue and seeing the instruments on stage, the excitement and anticipation of the upcoming performance is palpable. Starting off with a song from their latest release “Definition of Ugly is” it already spoke to our hearts. It’s a reminder that everyone has insecurities, and it’s okay to be different and unique. This song has already provided comfort in finding ourselves and reminded us not to let others’ perceptions define us.

Following that performance, the band then treated the audience to a mesmerizing performance of “Insomnia” and “She’s In the Rain.” These two songs transported the audience into a dreamlike state. As Filipinos, of course PH Black Roses sang along with the boys.
Lights shone bright as they performed “Modern Life” from Woosung’s album “Moth”. When you can relate to every words of this song and not to mention being able to scream *So fxck this modern life* it just hits different.
Prior to their next show, The Rose thanked the Philippine Black Roses for the warm welcome and expressed their appreciation for being back in Manila. They played a song from their Red album, “California”, which had the audience forgetting their troubles and enjoying the moment.

Making the night sweeter, The Rose performed “I Don’t Know You.” This feels like the first you see someone and you want to know more about that person. Honestly. if you still don’t know The Rose, what are you doing ?! Following that, they performed “Candy (so good)“. The Rose acknowledge how PH fans sang along with them.
From their Heal album, The Rose changed the atmosphere as they performed “See-Saw“(Cause we’ll make it better~) Moving forward with the next song “Childhood” we can’t help but to be emotional. The Rose Philippines, the band’s local fanbase, handed out some cartoon-themed loot bags as freebies to reminisce childhood.
The Rose, known for their deep affection towards Black Roses, serenaded the crowd with their hit song “I.L.Y”. This enchanting performance was not only a treat for the ears, but also had the power to reach deep within the hearts of all us inside Skydome, filling them with warmth and positivity.

From Heal album, the boys sang “Shift,” “Time,” and “Yes,” which provided a soothing and emotional experience for the audience. These songs have become a source of comfort for many listeners. It was a moment where people could both listen and emotionally connect with the music.
The night would not have been complete without The Rose’s debut song “Sorry.” The song “Sorry” is truly a masterpiece, and it was a privilege to experience it live. This song was eagerly anticipated by fans and it definitely exceeded their expectations.
As the concert neared its end, the band performed one of their most popular songs, “Beauty and the Beast.” the crowd sang along, swaying to the music and holding up lightsticks as the band played. Before the last song, The Rose played “Cure” with all their hearts, pouring every emotion they had into the music, giving their audience a moment to remember forever.

Finally, for their final song, The Rose performed “Sour.” The Rose’s unique blend of emotive lyrics and soulful melodies had the power to mend our *sour* hearts. The way they were able to turn feelings of sadness and heartache into something beautiful and cathartic was truly remarkable.
As the concert came to a close and the lights came back on, the audience was left with a sense of warmth and comfort.
When I am kept awake by my thoughts at night, I turn to the soothing melodies of The Rose. With my earphones plugged in, I am transported to a different world, one where the strains of their music wash away all my worries and doubts. It’s hard to express the feeling of hearing their voices live, it was truly a surreal experience that left me and surely all of the audience feeling calm.
