The very moment he graced the stage, we found ourselves utterly entranced by his exceptional allure much like the way a perfectly brewed cup of coffee captivates your senses from the first aromatic smell to the last sip.
Last Saturday, September 23rd, Ok Taecyeon from 2PM made a special return to Manila after about a decade. The event was his highly anticipated solo show, “SpecialTY,” which unfolded at New Frontier Theater.
To start off the night, Taecyeon performed “Magic” followed by “Anyway”. These electrifying performances left the Hottests (fandom) palpitating on the edge of their seats with excitement.
Taecyeon then introduced himself in Filipino, “Hello! Ako si *borta* Taecyeon! Na-miss ko kayo talaga. Welcome po sa lahat dito sa “SpecialTY” ngayon. Sobrang masaya ako na ang simula ay ngayon dito sa Pilipinas.” (“borta” means macho, a word he learned during the press conference)
Throughout the segments, we had the opportunity to connect with Taecyeon on a deeper level than ever before. One particularly memorable moment was when Taecyeon fulfilled fans’ wishes. Fortunate fans had the chance to hug him and capture a cherished photo together. What endeared us even further was his fanservice – he went down from the stage, looking out at the fan who had penned the wish he had chosen from the board.
Moving back to the performances, Taecyeon treated the audience to a rendition of “Vampire” by Park Kang Hyun, an official soundtrack from his drama “Heartbeat.” He followed this up by serenading the crowd with his own heartfelt interpretation of “Forevermore,” a song originally by Side A, a renowned Filipino pop band.
Moreover, Taecyeon had a lot in store for fans. Among these was a unique and one-of-a-kind cup crafted especially for a fortunate fan. Additionally, he personally brewed a delicious cup of coffee, which he then carefully placed in a special tumbler, complete with his autograph.
Much like the invigorating effect of a morning coffee, Taecyeon delivered a wake-up call to his fans, saying, “Hottest, gumising ka na. Kailangan mong pumasok sa paaralan.” If we were to hear his soothing voice before heading to school or work, it would undoubtedly put a smile on our faces as we embarked on our day.
Ending the fanmeeting, Taecyeon performed “Toc Toc Toc,” “Champagne,” “Promise (I’ll be),” “Jump” and “Hands Up”.
It’s been a while since 2PM held an event in Manila. Taecyeon’s “SpecialTY” fan meeting felt like a long-awaited reunion with a dear friend at your favorite café. The memories rekindled warmth within, wrapping you in a comforting blanket of nostalgia. The fragrant essence of freshly brewed coffee served as a sensory time machine, transporting you back to those cherished moments. As you bid farewell to the café, you carried with you newfound wisdom and connection, eagerly anticipating the next time you will meet at that very same café.
Ok Taecyeon’s “SpecialTY” fanmeeting in Manila was presented by PULP Live World and Happee Hour.
