In the Korean Entertainment industry, there are already a lot of boy groups and girl groups making their debut. However, in the world of K-pop, it’s been quite some time since a fresh, young Korean boy band made their entrance into the spotlight.
One day as we were checking the new releases we came across this K-Pop boy band named Catch The Young, that gave us the warm feeling of nostalgia, yet exuded a refreshing and youthful energy. Their melodies swiftly enchanted us, and before we knew it, we had breezed through their entire album, completely captivated by their music. With that, we strongly believe that Catch The Young is the new band you should watch out for.
Catch The Young, composed of Sani, Kihoon, Namhyun, Junyong, and Jungmo, is a K-Pop alternative pop-rock boy band from Evermore Entertainment. They made their debut last November 1st, 2023 with their first mini album, Catch The Young : Fragments of Youth. And, now they returned with a new mini-album titled Catch The Young : Fragments of Odyssey.
One Seoul got a chance to talk to the members of Catch The Young.
We asked them which song they relate to or find resonates with their personality the most, out of all their song releases. Sani shared that they relate to their song ‘The Legend. ’According to Sani, ‘The Legend’ embodies a fiery spirit, burning brightly before fading away, a quality he finds resonant with his own personality.
I think it is the third track, “The Legend.” The song embodies a fiery spirit, burning brightly and then fading away, and I think it is quite like my personality.”
SaniFor Kihoon, he shared that ‘Light on Me (1101)’ is the song that he relates to because he tries to be a person that others can rely on. “Light On Me (1101)” is the band’s first fan song, showing how much they appreciate their fans who have stayed by their side.
I think it is “Light on Me (1101)”. I try to be a person that others can rely on, so I choose this song.”
KihoonNamhyun’s favorite song is ‘The Legend,’ but he feels a strong connection to ‘Stay By My Side.’ He believes that this song reflects his personality well, as he finds it easy to immerse himself. He also shares that he thinks the song’s vibe is quite similar to his own.

NamhyunMeanwhile, Jungmo and Junyong both selected ‘Sentimental Journey’ as the song that they can relate to. Jungmo finds the synth-pop beats match his bubbly personality, while Junyong resonates with the rhythmic electric sound and energetic drums, which also reflect his bubbly nature. Junyong specifically pointed out that the lyrics, particularly those about moving forward without fear, deeply resonate with him as the youngest member of the group.
For me, it is the first track, “Sentimental Journey.” The beats from a synth-pop is somewhat like my my bubbly personality.”
JungmoI also choose the first track, “Sentimental Journey.” Its rhythmic electric sound and energetic drums resonate with my bubbly personality. The lyrics, especially about moving forward without fear, resonate with me as the youngest member of the group.”
JunyongWe then asked the group who they believe has shown the most improvement since the start of training up to now. Namhyun explained why he thinks it’s him. He mentioned that growing up in rural areas without any prior city experience made debuting with Catch The Young and releasing an album his first big steps in the music industry. Through continuous experience, he’s noticed significant growth in himself.
I also believe it’s me because I grew up in rural areas without prior city experience. Debuting as part of Catch The Young and releasing an album marked my first steps in the music industry, and through continuous experience, I’ve seen significant improvement in myself.”
NamhyunMoreover, Kihoon and Sani also mentioned themselves. They spent the longest time as trainees in the company.
I believe it’s me. I started as a trainee at 19, and since then, I’ve grown into a completely different person with many changes. Knowing myself best, I choose myself.”
SaniI also believe it’s me. Like Sani mentioned, we spent the longest time as trainees in this company, dedicating ourselves to practice and improvement.”
KihoonTo sum up, all the members have improved significantly, and each of us has our own perspective on this journey; thus the answers.”
