Disney+ has officially greenlit a live-action series adaptation of Keigo Higashino’s international sensation The Miracles of the Namiya General Store, slated for a 2027 premiere. This heart-stirring tale centers on three fugitives who hide out in a derelict shop once famous for its compassionate owner. Their night takes a supernatural turn when they begin receiving letters from the past, leading them to provide life-changing advice to strangers across different eras while discovering their own potential for redemption.

The series boasts a powerhouse ensemble led by Ryu Seungryong in the role of Go Minjoong, the shop’s original proprietor. Joining the cast are Kim Hyeyoon, Moon Sangmin, and Lee Chaemin as individuals whose lives are reshaped by the shop’s mysterious correspondence. The trio of men on the run will be portrayed by Kang Youseok, Park Jungwoo, and Kim Seongjeong. Directed and written by Park Youngju and produced by The LAMP ltd, the project brings a high-caliber creative pedigree to this beloved story.

With over 13 million copies of the original novel sold worldwide, this adaptation is a major cornerstone of the expanding Korean content library on Disney+. It joins a robust lineup of fan-favorite titles including the highly anticipated second seasons of A Shop for Killers and Made in Korea.

While viewers wait for more updates on this new production, they can currently stream hits like Tempest, The Manipulated, and Light Shop on the platform.
